Keep up to date with Amateur Drama in Bedfordshire with the BDA

This is the website to post your amateur drama productions. It is seen by hundreds of people each month. The list is here

The 2012 Festival will be on week commencing 23rd April with Colin Dolley GODA adjudicator.

Our main event is the annual One-Act Drama Festival in Bedfordshire. This is now in it's 30th Year and is currently held in the village of Haynes in Mid Beds. Entrants come from a wide area and many groups regularly participate. Some elect to go forward to the All England Finals and a local group has previously gone through all the area finals and won the competition!

This web site provides information that is of interest to all Drama Groups (and their audiences) in the area. In particular it's an easy way to find out where amateur productions are being staged. We offer free entries for all Bedfordshire Amateur Drama Groups in our Groups listing and the "What's On" page.

See the Festival page here for rules and entry forms.

Looking for a worthwhile charity to support?

I am asking your group to consider raising funds over the coming season for Macmillan Cancer Support? I appreciate that these are challenging times for us financially and that there are probably many demands on limited funds. But it would be just great if you were able to make any contribution to help the 822 people that are diagnosed with cancer daliy in the UK.

There are many ways in which your group could support Macmillan. You could hold a performance specifically for Macmillan; donate a percentage of ticket sales; hold a collection on the door or during an interval, or perhaps raise money from a social event that you hold. We would be happy to help you by promoting your event on our local website www.macmillan.org.uk/cambridgeshire providing you with branded merchandise such as banners and balloons, and offering opportunities for local media coverage.

Cancer is the toughest fight most of us will ever face. But people don’t have to face it alone. Macmillan are the nurses and therapists helping people through treatment. The experts on the end of the phone. The advisers telling people which benefits they are entitled to. The volunteers
giving them a hand with the everyday things. The campaigners improving cancer care. The fundraisers who make it all possible.

This year is very special as Macmillan celebrates its centenary - 100 years of supporting people affected by cancer. We would love you to join us and be part of our centenary year. If you have any questions about fundraising, would like more information about the ways in which
Macmillan Cancer Support have been supporting people affected by cancer over the last 100 years or would like to find out about the services we fund in your area then please email or call Charlotte Darlow, e-mail: CDarlow@macmillan.org.uk; mobile: 07834 192229.
