Based
in Wilstead, a small village 5 miles south of Bedford. We have a membership
covering ages 8 to 70+ (Adult members 15, Young Players 30 & Patrons 35) The Patrons scheme aims to support the Players but also allows privileges such as priority booking, reserved seats for productions and access to Wilstead Players social events. Wilstead Players meet in the Village Hall for rehearsals on Sunday and Wednesday or Thursday evenings. We put on three high quality amateur productions per year and a one-act play, which is entered for local festivals. (Bedfordshire (Haynes), Luton, Cambridge, Welwyn and Letchworth.) Productions include drama, comedy and a pantomime, which usually involves large numbers of children. We have established a good reputation, on the one-act festival circuit, for quality productions. We are currently building up a regular Young Players group catering for ages 8 to 16 years. Our social programme includes an annual barbecue, a Patrons' cheese and wine evening and a Village quiz.
